The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) is a voluntary agreement among member states, territories, and districts of the United States that establishes one set of national standards for distance education offerings. MIT provides information to students from states outside of Massachusetts who are enrolled in distance education programs here.

The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, requires universities receiving federal financial aid to make student consumer information available to all enrolled and prospective students. MIT’s Student Financial Services Office provides information on these consumer disclosures here.
